Winter Break has definitely gone
off with a bang. Sarah and I got to shop till our bodies gave out and
most importantly catch up on life. Julie came home and we had our
traditional dinner, filling each other in on the happenings of our lives
apart. Jacob and I also got our hotel party that we planned (almost 8
years later). We got an amazing room at the Aston Sunset, hit the town
and relaxed with a bunch of good friends. Going out with Jake, Dambee,
Matt, Sarah, Kelly, and Alyssa, I know I’m always going to have a good
time. Definitely a stay to remember. I also
finally got
together with Aleena for a much needed reunion. We took a snorkeling
trip together, jumping on a boat that took us out to a reef about 30
feet deep to see turtles and fish. The turtles were MASSIVE.
Seriously, some were bigger than her 9 year old cousin. There were
about 8 turtles just chilling along with a giant schools of fish. We
basically swam in the schools of fish with the turtles inches away from
us. It was amazing.
It was a rough week with family tension but we got through it and the
holiday weekend turned out to be really nice. Christmas Eve with my
dad, feasting at Tsukiji’s with a buffet lunch and Christmas Day with my
mom, relaxing at home and then off to dinner with my aunts, uncles, and
cousins. I’ll be reuniting with Sam tomorrow, which I’m extremely
excited for. A little shopping and eating and a whole lot of talking.
We have lots to tell and lots to catch up on too. Later in the break
Mia and I will be going scuba diving together again, hoping to see some
humpback whales who have come to Hawaii to give birth. We’re praying
for amazing conditions and some
whales!!!
The New Year is just around the corner and I’m really anxious. I
feel like this year I figured out the path I need to be on to steer
myself in the right direction. I vow to get myself a little more
organized because there is no way I can accomplish anything without
organization. I can’t wait to get going and do something with my life.
I’m ready for you 2012.
